The Great Union Day from 1918 had its place 100 years ago.
This is a fact that should fill our souls of excitement and joy, no matter where we’re on this planet.
Over the past 30 years, many Romanians have scattered around the world for the seek of a better life. I’m really happy when I travel abroad and meet lots of Romanias who are working in different places (restaurant, beach, hotel etc). They’re so excited to hear again the Romanian language. Most of them say that it’s not easy to be in a foreign country, no matter how good you are in the job you practice. In their eyes there is the longing and the desire to return home.
However, we are a strong country and along this 100 years we made ourselves remarked through people who have brought respect and pride to the Romanians: Nadia Comăneci, Ilie Năstase, Gică Hagi and other talented people who have come across different fields.
Not to mention the women, those who gave birth of this beautiful country. It’s not a secret the fact that Romanian girls are gorgeous and were always remarked by foreigners. 100 years ago they didn’t have many options and their main activity was field work, childcare and housekeeping.
They worked side by side with men in various field activities to support their families, having a piece of land was a real fortune. Yet they were always worthy, respecting their family and duties.
But today, things have changed, Romanian girls have more opinions and different possibilities. Field work is no longer for them because everything is done mechanically. They live an independent life, go to work, attend school with children, and have a certain social status.
We shouldn’t forget that the beauty of Romanian land, the traditions and habits were left from our ancestors to us. The popular costume represents us and highlights the beauty of all Romanians.
In conclusion, I want to say that no matter how hard it is or wherever we’d be on this planet we should not forget the beauty of Romania. We are brave people and our ancestors shed their blood on this earth, so that we can have a place to live the best of our lives. Let’s never give up our country and always come back to her.
Romania, you are beautiful and I hope that I will always live on your land.
