ADVANTAGES AND DISAVANTAGES OF ONLINE STUDYING

We are lucky to have all these high-performance equipment that allows us to carry out our activity for school. Currently, online studying has become a necessity in most schools around the world. Moreover, in the past people would have never dreamed of communicating and fulfilling their tasks as we do it today.

However, everything is accompanied by pros and cons. I would like to say that the following ideas come from my behalf, a high-school student in public education, profiled on intensive mathematics and computer science, who would just like to express the advantages and disadvantages of the current situation. It is my opinion and I’d be very pleased to hear yours in the comments bellow.

ADVANTAGES

1. SAFETY

Studying online is a safe environment for both students and teachers. Studying continues without anyone being exposed to danger.

2. WE LEARN ONLINE WORK

Although this virus has affected all of us in one way or another, due to it we have also been given the opportunity to develop our digital skills and learn new things, including how teachers develop new ways to make themselves understood and to increase students’ interest even from behind the screen. Indeed, all students and children have a duty to learn and teach as if they were in the classroom, but for some of them it is harder when it comes about adapting to this new system. In the end, I think we have all learned a few useful things along the way.

3. IT IS MORE CONFORTABLE

Another advantage is the lightness of the program, in my case, as well as many others, spending a lot of time on the road from home to school requires a lot of energy and costs. Online classes give you more time for yourself and are more relaxing as they are made from home or anywhere else.

DISAVANTAGES

1. THE DEVICES PROBLEM

Most students have a phone, tablet, laptop or computer to learn online, but what about those who don’t? In many families, generally with more than one child, this problem is often encountered, because it is necessary for each child to have his own device.

2. IS IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR I – VIII GRADES?

From my point of view, for high school students like me, online education is not as difficult as for those in I – VIII grades, because starting from high school, students are otherwise aware of the importance of each class and are more attentive and skillful when it comes about online work, lessons, tests, projects and more.

3. LACK OF INTEREST

The schedule became easier with the online school, this also results in a certain indifference regarding the interest. Many people have accepted and believe that now they don’t have to pay as much attention as the time when everybody came to school physically.

Online education in Romania still needs improvement, but there can be made changes for the better, if there’s given a minimal interest from everyone

UNTIL NEXT TIME, MY LOVES! BYE! <3
